Make PDFs smaller without the hassle
Large PDFs are usually large because of the images inside them. Compression lowers image resolution and re-encodes pictures, while text stays sharp and selectable. Choose a level to balance size and quality. If a PDF can't be made smaller, you get the original back unchanged.

Compress PDF: questions & answers
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on the content. Scanned documents and PDFs full of photos often shrink a lot. PDFs that are mostly text are already small and may barely change.
Which level should I choose?
Recommended (150 DPI images) suits screens, email and everyday printing. Strong (72 DPI) gives the smallest files for on-screen reading. Light (300 DPI) keeps print quality.
Are my files safe?
Files are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection, converted in an isolated temporary folder, and deleted the moment your download is ready. We never store, read or share your documents.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is completely free. There is no sign-up, no email and no watermark on your files.
